Dr. John F. Walvoord succeeded Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer as President of Dallas Theological Seminary after being associated with Dr. Chafer in teaching and administration for many years. Since1986, Dr. Walvoord has served as Chancellor of the seminary. He is the author of numerous books, including The Church in Prophecy, Israel in Prophecy, The Nations in Prophecy, The Holy Spirit, and The Millennial Kingdom.
Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer, founder and first president of Dallas Theological Seminary until his death in 1952, was known internationally as a Bible teacher and lecturer. He served as Professor of Systematic Theology at Dallas and was the author of Systematic Theology, He That is Spiritual, Grace, and other works on biblical themes

About the Author
John F. Walvoord was president of Dallas Theological Seminary and author of numerous books on eschatology and theology. He held the A.M. degree from Texas Christian University in philosophy and the ThD degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in Systematic Theology.
As the founder and first president of the Dallas Theological Seminary, the late Dr. Chafer served as Professor of Systematic Theology since its beginning in 1924, and was editor of Bibliotheca Sacra from 1940 to the time of his death in 1952.
